Here we go again. Broken arm #3.

I was getting the kids ready for bed and looking forward to having a long Saturday evening of laundry and maybe even reading a little when I heard an unusually large thud in the kids room. Long story short....Mason broke his arm. I am very proud of myself...I freaked out considerably less than the last time we rushed a kid to the E.R. for a broken arm (Mia's most recent break was hideous) I am so thankful for wonderful neighbors. Thanks Stacey and Scott for watching Mia. Jared was at work, so I called him and told him to meet me there. It took us both 20 minutes to get there and we pulled in at the exact same time. I was nervous to take him by myself, so I was so glad to see Jared. Mason didn't stop crying for about an hour, but after all the strange doctors stopped touching him he fell right asleep and stayed asleep through the ex-ray. He's a trooper. He keeps trying to climb on things one handed. I had to go rescue him just a minute ago from the bunk beds. He'd climbed up and was stuck hanging on with only one hand. He kept unwrapping the temporary cast, so I'm glad we got the real thing on today. I think between Mia and I telling him how cool it is, we've convinced him to like the cast. He's back to his normal self and it hasn't slowed him down at all.
This is Mason balancing the play dough on his cast because he couldn't figure out how to hold the lid and the cup at the same time.
We've had purple, then pink, and now BLUE! He gets a short cast in three weeks...we'll see what color he wants then.....What fun!....kind of.

Snow Day

I realized this week that we haven't spent much time out in the snow. I've been longing for spring so much that I've forgotten how much the kids have fun even when they are freezing. Mia and Mason had a fun snow ball fight with Katie from next door.

Valentines Day

Valentines, and Sprinkles and Frosting! Oh My!

True Love!
Mia had a fun party at school and loved passing out valentines at school for the first time.Mia declared that since it was a holiday it was my job to make sure everyone (mostly just her) had a fun day all day.....so what's more fun that decorating cookies and then eating them. This is Mason with a face full of flour...all he needs to be happy is something to climb on or something to get messy in.
Look closely at the little Mason size bites taken out of the dough.
Mia adding sprinkles! The final result was beautiful, but we had more than we could handle, so luckily we have neighbors to share with. The kids loved giving out the cookies to their friends.

Happy Valentines Day!

New Year in Rexburg

We had a wonderful week just hanging out in Rexburg before heading back to Denver. The girls had fun painting nails and playing Risk on New Year's Eve while the guys watched movies. We took a day to blow stuff up out in the boonies....cause why not. We also had a tour of the new Rexburg Temple! It was amazing....I hope everyone gets a chance to see it because the feeling and atmosphere are indescribable.

Lava Hot Springs in December

If it seems like we are in our bathing suits an insane number of times during the month of December...you are right. We weren't planning on doing the swimming thing, but since we had our makeshift suits from our Laramie stop, Jared insisted we make a trip to Lava. I think anyone who wants to swim OUTSIDE during December is insane, but the kids and Jared loved it....and I have to admit it was fun even if it did feel a little clausterphobic (I have no idea how to spell that) in all the steam.

December 2007 in Malad

We got tons of Snow while we were in Malad this year for Christmas. We had lots of fun with the igloo Jared and Jeff built. Mia and Jared took some pictures in the spillway and Mason had fun harassing the horses.

Fun in Laramie WY!

We only got 2 1/2 hours outside of Denver, before I-80 closed the Friday before Christmas. We quickly got a hotel room before they were all gone. We then hit Shopko for a swim diaper and junk food. We were anxious to get to Idaho, but it was a fun little stop for the night.
