Jared

For those of you who don't know, Jared was chosen as one of ten E&Y employees in all of the U.S. and Canada to participate in a pro bono program in South America. So Jared spent October, November and December in Conception Chile. He did an amazing job of helping a software company by analyzing and overhauling the company's financial/accounting departments. Also, last week he was interviewed by BYU's Business School because they are featuring him in their alumni magazine. So, all of you who get the Marriott School Alumni magazine, look for Jared's article. We missed him like crazy, but are so proud of him and all he does for our family. On another side note, while Jared was in Chile, he flew to Brazil to take the first of three sections of the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst???) exam. Anyway, he found out a few weeks ago that he passed. This may not seem like a huge deal to many of you (I didn't know what the test was and I went to business school), but it is a grueling test and not only costs thousands of dollars by the time you are done, but also takes a year to study for each one. They only offer it once a year because it is so intense. So, we were very excited that he passed and he is cramming for part two that he will take in June.
This post is way over due, but Jared's pictures got left in Chile, and we just got them back. So, here are a few of the many beautiful pictures he took of his trip to Chile....yes he is working in a couple of them. He really only had two weekends where he got out of the city, but he took some great pics. So, here they are.

p.s. in a couple of the pictures Jared has a teddy bear with him. Just so you don't think he takes his teddy bear everywhere he goes, I thought I'd explain. Mia's class has a bear (actually several bears that look identical) named Jambo that they can take on trips with them and then come back and show pictures of them to the class. Mia had Jared take it with him and Jared took tons of pictures for Mia. She was so excited to see all the cool places Jambo went. Mia did her presentation in class yesterday.

Wow!!! Those are great pictures! Nice story about the bear, but we all know that he can't leave home without his Teddy Bear ;) J/K, It sounds kind of like Flat Stanley, have you heard of him? Anyway, it looks like he had fun. I'm glad we got to see some pictures.

Good job on the big test Jared! I liked the pictures of you hanging in the trees and reading about your travels in more detail.

Wow, Jared - check you out. You're awesome! Nice pictures too. I love the GQ shots with the bear - especially the rock-climbing one. Ha! And you're still climbing trees after all these years :) Remember when you and Trav used to let me follow you around the neighborhood as you looked for ways to create havoc - if I didn't tell? Just thought of that ... the good 'ole days. :)
